Alison Middleditch MCSP MMACP
Alison studied at Kings College London and has extensive experience in the NHS and Private Sectors. She held a five year research post at the Bioengineering Department of University College London. Alison has a particular interest in treating long-standing back and joint problems and acute and chronic sports injuries. Alison lectures both nationally and internationally and has had a number of articles published. She is author of the textbook ‘Functional Anatomy of the Spine.Click here to email Alison.


Alison Middlemitch
Belinda Whippey MCSP MMACP
Belinda trained at St Marys, Paddington and has worked at St Helier Hospital, St George's, Tooting and East Surrey Hospital. She has undertaken postgraduate studies in manipulative therapy and is a specialist in the treatment of the spine, muscle and joint disorders. Belinda is also a specialist in the treatment of urinary incontinence.

Belinda is currently studying for an MSc in Health Ergonomics. Ergonomics is the study of the human & the work-place. We treat many work related musculo-skeletal problems, as well as treating these problems one is able to assess the work place to prevent them occurring. She is also nearing completion of a MSc in Health Ergonmomics which combined with her physiotherapy knowledge enables her to identify and help prevent musculoskeletal problems in the work place.


Belinda Whippey
Ali Driver MCSP
Ali Driver has worked at Surrey Physiotherapy for the past 10 years. Ali trained at South London’s Kings College Hospital qualifying in 1983. Her first job as a newly qualified physiotherapist was at Barts where she gained valuable experience in a range of specialities before becoming a senior member of staff in their musculoskeletal physiotherapy department. From here she moved to St. Georges, initially running the out-patients at Clapham then in GP clinics and the large department at St. Georges.

During the ten years Ali worked there she also had her two children and started working part-time at Surrey Physiotherapy. In 1997 Ali expanded her work with the clinic and has worked here exclusively since, being promoted to Senior Physiotherapist earlier this year. Having specialised in treating musculoskeletal disorders since 1987, she had a wide range of expertise. Her specific interests are in treating and managing problems with backs, necks, hips, ankles, hands sports injuries and hypermobility syndrome. Ali uses a variety of treatment skills such as deep tissue massage, mobilisation, manipulation, Pilates and acupuncture as an adjunct to treatment, when appropriate.

Jackie Docherty MSCP
Jackie qualified from The Middlesex Hospital in 1984 and has since worked at The Royal London Hospital, The London Bridge Hospital and Shirley Oaks Hospital. She has specialised in musculoskeletal problems and sports injuries since 1990 and was the physiotherapist to the Great Britain Womens Gymnastics Team between 1986-1990.

She also has post graduate qualifications in the use of acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal conditions.

She has worked within the Surrey Physiotherapy Team since August 2001 and also works at the Royal Marsden Hospital with patients undergoing treatment for cancer.



Nicola Hunt BSc (Hons), MCSP
Nicola qualified from the London Hospital in 1988 and has worked both in the NHS and private sectors. She initially worked at St Helier Hospital and has specialised in Musculosketal field from 1990 working at Mayday and Croydon Primary Care Trust while also doing some evening work at local clinics. She has most recently worked at Sutton and Merton PCT.

Nicola has a wide breadth of experience in treating acute to chronic prolems and has a particular interest in managing and treating work related upper limb disorders.
 
Andy Hiscock MCSP
Andy qualified in 2002 from the University of Southampton and initially worked at Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust before moving to St George's, Tooting in 2004. Andy’s time at St George's included a year's research secondment to the medical school, working in the field of elderly rehabilitation and experimental treatments for stroke. His experience ranges from general out-patient physiotherapy to amputee rehabilitation, neuro-rehab including spinal cord injury and acute respiratory conditions. Andy currently also works at North Downs Hospital in Caterham at weekends treating post-surgical in-patients. In March 2007 Andy gave up full time work to look after his baby daughter and now he practices physio part-time in the evenings and weekends.
